September Pixel Update Brings 20+ Fixes
by Tim · Droid LifeHalfway through the month, Google has released the September update for Pixel phones. We have covered the new features, so if you haven’t seen that, check it out. For those more concerned about existing bugs that have been squashed, then this is for you.
Google highlights fixes concerning Google app crashes, a Bluetooth fix, a camera crash fix, a graphics issue that was fixed, plus a long list of UI fixes. Each fix has a number associated with it which lets you see which specific Pixel phone was affected and corrected.

The September 2026 update includes bug fixes and improvements for Pixel users – see below for details
Apps
• Fix for a crash in the Google app under certain conditions*[1]
• Fix for an issue that causes certain gaming apps to crash when opening*[3]
Bluetooth
• Fix for an issue that prevented users from enabling Wi-Fi or Bluetooth under certain conditions*[3]
Camera
• Fix for a camera stability issue that causes the system to crash in certain conditions*[2]
Display & Graphics
• Fix for an issue that causes game lag, choppy framerates, and increased device temperatures during graphics-intensive tasks*[1]
Framework
• Fixe for a system crash that could occur when apps are installed, uninstalled, or updated*[3]
• Fix for an an issue where Android System Intelligence could cause the device to become unresponsive due to slow database operations*[1]
• Fix for an issue where enabling the magnification shortcut could cause quick swipes to scroll in the opposite direction*[1]
• Fix for an issue where home screen widgets could disappear after restarting the device*[1]
System
• Fix for an issue that could cause on-device intelligence features to stop working when force dark mode is enabled*[1]
Telephony
• Fix for an issue that prevents certain devices from connecting to mobile networks or causes unexpected service interruptions in certain conditions*[1]
User Interface
• Fix for an issue where media player controls lacked surface animations*[1]
• Fix for a crash that could occur when connecting or disconnecting an external display*[1]
• Fix for a system crash that could occur when tapping a folder on the taskbar in Overview mode*[1]
• Fix for an issue that could prevent notifications from being swiped away*[1]
• Fix for an issue where notifications were partially cut off on the lock screen*[1]
• Fix for an issue where the ‘Shape’ live effect for wallpapers failed to properly separate the subject from the background*[1]
• Fix for an issue where the empty notification shade message did not immediately update to the correct language after changing the device’s system language*[1]
• Fix for an issue that causes text to overlap in notifications under certain conditions*[1]
• Fix to improve performance and reduced lag (jank) when opening the Internet panel from the quick settings shade*[1]

Fixes are available for all supported Pixel devices unless otherwise indicated below. Some fixes may be carrier/region specific.
