Pixel Watch 2 and 3: Battery Drain Affecting Owners

Many Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 owners are taking to reddit, expressing concerns over battery life issues. It seems like all of a sudden, their watches are draining battery out of nowhere, which is never a good thing.

User GadgetusMaximus says, “I’m usually getting almost 48 hours per charge except for the last 2 days where I’m not getting 12 hours.” They then asked others if they were having similar issues. Now the thread is full of PW2 and PW3 owners reporting similar issues. Within the past week or so, it appears these watches simply aren’t holding a charge.

The cause of the battery drain isn’t clear at this time. Owners have factory reset their watches and are still running into the problem. That means it being a rogue app seems unlikely. It’s entirely plausible that a recent update pushed to the device could be the cause, but again, we don’t have a definitive answer. Now with many users reporting an issue, we might get word from Google and maybe a fix.
