Passenger vehicles and cargo vehicles carrying only the 14 types of goods permitted under the regulations will be allowed to use the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway only after being equipped with the telematics GPS system, according to reports. The installation and service provision of telematics GPS devices on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway began in June 2024. As of September 9, telematics devices had been installed on 3,525 passenger vehicles and 2,512 cargo vehicles.
