According to recent reports, the Communications Ministry of Malaysia recently explained why you may be getting strong full bar signals but no Internet. While there are many factors, the main reasons are heavy traffic and when the cables or physical transmission lines get disrupted (through cable theft, wildlife, tower power supply, etc.), resulting in these phantom full signals. MCMC or the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and telcos are already taking steps to avoid these reasons though.
