The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has initiated the process of preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for developing community-based ecotourism infrastructure on Rameswaram Island, aiming to generate local livelihoods while promoting conservation of the ecologically sensitive Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve.
