From The Hindu Archives, September 3, 1926: The Rangoon Gazette says that the successful emancipation of slaves in Hukawng valley last season will, it is said, be followed this cold season by an expedition to that part of unadministered territory between Malikha and Nmaikha rivers, north of their junction to the Irrawaddy river and locally known as the triangle where the same system of slavery as existed in Hukawng valley still prevails.
