Around 400,000 cars still driven in the Netherlands despite serious open safety recalls
Hundreds of thousands of passenger cars are still being driven on Dutch roads despite open recalls that the Dutch vehicle authority, RDW, classifies as “serious.” The authority estimates that more than 400,000 vehicles are affected, though the precise number is unknown. Infrastructure and Water Management Minister Vincent Karremans said the government is considering a law that would force vehicle owners to get the repairs done. “This is about your safety and that of your family,” he said. “It is genuinely important that this gets done.”
