Olivia Rodrigo Finds Something Else Plaguing Her at the DMV
by Alejandra Gularte · VULTUREIt seems like just yesterday Olivia Rodrigo was singing “Driver’s License” on Saturday Night Live as a teenager, and now she’s a young adult trying to figure out what the hell is a Real ID. For her SNL monologue, she revisits important milestones in her career, such as her first commercial with Old Navy, her role in a Disney Channel show with influencer/boxer Jake Paul, and falling on stage while on tour. But what brought Rodrigo from child star to pop star was her first solo single, “Driver’s License.” She hopped over to a piano to play the melody to sing a new song about what’s been plaguing drivers at the DMV: all the forms you need to apply for a Real ID. “I approach the lady. She says I don’t have what I need. She said my ID isn’t real. Then why did you give it to me?” she sings. “The lady said you need a paystub. I said what the hell is that. I’m 23.” Girl, same.
