A 24-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a high-speed collision on Nayandahalli Ring Road on Friday morning. The accident occurred around 3:45 pm when the driver of a lorry allegedly drove recklessly and failed to slow down near the Nice Road turn, colliding with a scooter ridden by Manjunath. The driver has been booked for his role in the collision.
Manjunath was immediately rushed to Jain Hospital. The Byatarayanapura Traffic Police had registered a case against the lorry driver under multiple sections, including 281, 125(B), 134(B), and 187 of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act. The traffic police officials stated that the victim succumbed to his injuries. As a result, the case has now been upgraded to include charges under section 106 BNS.
Teacher accused of assaulting student
A complaint has been lodged against a teacher at Holy Christ School in Jayanagar, accusing him of assaulting an 11-year-old student, causing a broken tooth. According to the complaint filed by the father of the victim, the incident occurred on Thursday around 12:30 pm. The victim, a 6th-grade student, was reportedly playing with classmates in the classroom when he approached his Hindi teacher, Ahmed, to discuss a matter related to their play.
The teacher allegedly struck Ashwin with a wooden stick, injuring him severely enough to cause a broken tooth. Ashwin was subsequently taken to a nearby general hospital, where he received medical attention for his injuries. After treatment, Victim’s father disturbed by the incident, proceeded to the police station with his son to file a formal complaint against the teacher.
Missing child found safe
A child who went missing from Vayyalikaval on Thursday evening was safely found near Deviya Park by the police, bringing relief to the family and community. The Vayyalikaval police reported that they responded swiftly to locate the missing child after being alerted by the family.
According to police sources, a woman named Sujata, who reportedly suffers from mental illness, had taken the child. Authorities found the child near the park after a search and immediately reunited them with their family. Sujata was taken into custody and questioned to determine the circumstances leading to her involvement in the incident.
Following an initial investigation, officials confirmed that Sujata had no criminal intent but may have acted due to her mental health condition. As a safety measure, both Sujata and the child have been placed back with their respective families. Sujata has been sent to her hometown along with her parents.
