Pedestrian killed in Scarborough collision

Toronto police say a pedestrian has been pronounced dead after they were struck by a driver in a vehicle.

Officers were called to the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Silver Maple Gate in Scarborough around 5:34 p.m.

Police say the driver remained at the scene.

Road closures are in effect in the area while police investigate.
