Man left fighting for his life after cardiac arrest on Westminster Bridge after stabbing rumours

A man has been left fighting for his life after having a cardiac arrest on Westminster Bridge - despite earlier reports saying he had been stabbed.

Police were called to reports of a fight that broke out on the bridge just before 11am.

Met Police attended with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance, and found a man suffering from a cardiac arrest.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, with another one person arrested on suspicion of affray.

Two of those arrested were taken to hospital with head injuries.

Initial reports suggested the man had been stabbed, but further inquiries confirmed this was not the case.

Investigations are ongoing and the man remains in hospital in a critical condition.

A road closure is in place on the bridge and police have said inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
