Two consecutive nights of armed scooter thefts strike Almere Buiten-Hout
Two scooter robberies occurred on two consecutive nights in Almere Buiten-Hout, police told De Stentor on Friday. Both involved threats with weapons: a gun and knives.
In the first incident, a woman from Almere was riding her scooter around 2 a.m. along Spoorbaanpad, near the Evenaar, when she encountered two young men standing on the bike path. The pair blocked her route, forcing her to stop.
When she attempted to escape as the suspects approached, she was unable to get away. One of the two men then pointed a firearm at her, after which she was forced to hand over her scooter and personal belongings. The suspects fled on it.
A second robbery took place the following night around 1 a.m. near a skate park at the Evenaar in Almere Buiten-Hout. A boy and a girl were approached by a group of four to five people traveling on scooters.
The group drove directly toward the victims and threatened them with knives. The attackers took both scooters from the pair, along with some personal items.
