When Eitan Katz takes the stage at Kings Theatre this Chol HaMoed Sukkos, the audience won’t simply be watching the show. They’ll be part of it.
If you’ve ever experienced Eitan live, you know what happens. A niggun starts, the room catches on, and somewhere along the way the line between the stage and the audience disappears. People are singing. People are dancing. And suddenly it feels less like a performance and more like one enormous celebration.
On Chol HaMoed, that takes on another meaning.
Sukkos is זמן שמחתנו, the Yom Tov of simcha. For generations, Jews have celebrated these days with music and dancing, from the extraordinary joy of the Simchas Beis Hashoeva in the Beis Hamikdash to the dancing that continues in Jewish communities today.
That spirit will be very much alive at Kings Theatre on September 29.
