‘Now You See Me’ Live Show Sets Broadway Debut

The Four Horsemen are taking their talents to Broadway.

“Now You See Me Live,” a stage show inspired by Lionsgate’s hit film franchise about thieving illusionists, is opening at New York City’s Al Hirschfeld theater on Nov. 11 for an eight-week run that concludes on Jan. 3.

“Now You See Me” follows the mind-bending heists of the Four Horsemen, a team of magicians portrayed on screen in the original 2013 movie by Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco. Lizzy Caplan replaced Fisher in the foursome in 2016 sequel “Now You See Me 2.” They all returned for the third installment, 2025’s “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.” Meanwhile, a fourth entry is currently in the works. Across the first three films, the commercially successful series has grossed $933 million at the global box office.

Plot details are unclear, though a press release touts the stage show as an “explosive mix of high-tech illusions, solo stunts and jaw-dropping spectacles.” Starring as the Four Horsemen on Broadway are  Gabriella Lester as the escapologist, James More and Darcy Oake as illusionists and Matthew Pomeroy as a mentalist.

“‘Now You See Me Live’ pushes the boundaries of stage magic to the absolute edge, making the impossible possible in front of your very eyes,” said Simon Painter, who co-created the show and serves as a creative producer.

The Broadway engagement is part of an ongoing global tour, with more stops to be announced. “Now You See Me Live” has previously been staged across Australia, Singapore and London’s West End, and it’s opening in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel beginning on Oct. 15.

“Now You See Me Live” includes a creative team of Tim Lawson (producer), Adam Trent (co-creator), Ash Jacks McCready (creative director, staging director), Kirsty White (creative director), Enzo Wenye (illusion director), Hugo Mercier-Bosseny (lighting designer) and Evan Duffy (composer). Jenefer Brown, Lionsgate’s president of global products and experiences, serves as creative consultant on the project.

“Now You See Me” is the latest movie that Lionsgate has expanded beyond the screen. The studio also has stage versions of “The Housemaid,” “Dirty Dancing,” “La La Land” and “Wonder” in the works, while a play based on “The Hunger Games” is currently on London’s West End.
