Amazon MGM Studios Hires MRC TV’s Stacy Fung (EXCLUSIVE)
by Joe Otterson · VarietyAmazon MGM Studios has hired veteran TV executive Stacy Fung as part of its drama series team, Variety has learned exclusively.
In her new senior executive role, Fung will be a part of the team led by Odetta Watkins, head of drama, ongoing series at Amazon MGM Studios. The team is responsible for managing new and returning Amazon series such as “Reacher,” “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” “The Terminal List,” “Cross,” and more. Watkins reports to Laura Lancaster, head of co-prod television and ongoing series.
Fung joins Amazon MGM Studios from MRC, where she has worked since 2020 in the TV division. At MRC, Fung was executive vice president and head of current. In that role, she oversaw Amazon shows like “The Terminal List” as well as the upcoming spinoff “The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.” Her purview also included series such as “The Great” at Hulu and both “Poker Face” and “Ted” at Peacock.

Before her time at MRC, Fung served as director of international originals at Netflix. She focused on local language content in that role, including work on shows for the Brazilian territory.
Fung was also previously at Universal Content Productions (UCP) for eight years. In her role as vice president of current programming, she worked on shows like “Homecoming,” which aired on Prime Video, as well as the hit Netflix series “The Umbrella Academy,” the Emmy-winning USA Network series “Mr. Robot,” and Syfy’s “12 Monkeys” series adaptation. She was also previously the director of development and current programming at Regency Television earlier in her career.
