Myanmar’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA), under the Ministry of Health, issued a warning on October 14, calling for the withdrawal of VeVe-branded strawberry-flavoured milk from the market after tests found excessive levels of a food additive.

According to the FDA’s announcement, a sample collected from Ocean Super Center was found to contain 322.64 parts per million (ppm) of sodium cyclamate, exceeding the permitted maximum limit of 250 ppm.

The product was manufactured by Green Circle, based in Shwepyithar Township, Yangon Region. The expiry date printed on the packaging is April 3, 2027.

The FDA has urged the withdrawal of the affected product from the market following the test results.
