The curfew imposed in 44 townships across Yangon Region, (excluding Cocokyun Township), will be lifted starting from the morning of December 27, according to preliminary reports.

The curfew had been enforced under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code as part of measures to maintain security, stability, and the rule of law. Under the order, movement was restricted between 1:00 am. and 3:00 am. in the affected townships.

Authorities said the decision to lift the curfew was made due to improved peace and stability in the region. The move is aimed at facilitating economic, social, and religious activities, ensuring smoother public movement, and supporting further development of businesses and livelihoods.

As a result, the restriction on movement between 1:00 am and 3:00 am. will no longer be in effect from the morning of December 27.
