Liam Payne seen chatting to hotel worker accused of supplying him with drugs in new video
by Sam Cooper, Daniel Bird · NottinghamshireLiveA new video has surfaced, showing Liam Payne having a conversation with the man who is alleged to have supplied him with drugs. The 31-year-old unfortunately died after plummeting from his third-floor hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16.
The star died following multiple injuries that resulted in both "internal and external haemorrhage". Allegations have been made that a staff member at the luxury CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where Liam was staying, provided him drugs concealed in a Dove soap packet.
According to toxicology results, at the time of his passing, Liam had antidepressants and cocaine in his system—even though he had reportedly been free from drugs just a few days prior. Freshly released footage seems to capture the former One Direction member going to the hotel’s basement via an elevator to meet the employee in question.
TMZ obtained footage depicts Liam stepping out from the elevator and greeting a hotel worker, in the midst of what appears to be their typical workday routines, by shaking hands. Following another hand slap, the employee exits through a door, while Liam returns to the elevator.
The security footage timestamped around 2:04 pm was taken merely hours before Liam's tragic fall, reports the Mirror. It appears that Liam and the employee were on good terms based on their interaction. It's claimed that only staff at the hotel had access to their supplies of the Dove soap which was seen in Liam's room on the third floor of the swanky hotel.
Three people have been charged in relation to Liam's death. According to a statement from the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office, one of those charged is the individual who "accompanied the artist on a daily basis during his stay in the city of Buenos Aires'" That person is "charged with the crimes of abandonment of a person followed by death - contemplated in article 106 of the Penal Code and which provides for a prison sentence of 5 to 15 years -, as perpetrator, in ideal concurrence with the supply and facilitation of narcotics (art. 5 inc. e) of Law 23.737 on Narcotics)."
The second person is a hotel employee, with them being charged with "two proven supplies of cocaine to Liam Payne during the period he was at the hotel".
And the third person, who is also a supplier of narcotics, is "charged with two other clearly proven supplies at two different times on 14 October."
"Both were charged with the offence of supplying narcotics, two acts each (art. 5 inc. e) of Law 23.737)," the statement said of the second and third person. Liam's friend, Rogelio 'Roger' Nores, has previously identified himself as the main person charged with abandonment but strongly denies the allegations.
In a discussion with the Daily Mail, he refuted the allegations that he is under investigation in connection with Liam's death. Asserting his innocence, he said: "I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened."
There are also reports of a local waiter under scrutiny after he shared time and an "intimate" moment with Liam, which involved drug use.
Braian Nahuel Paiz, 24, suspected to be Liam's 'dealer' in the ongoing legal inquiry - a claim he disputes - met Liam originally at the restaurant where he works and has since made several startling assertions. On local television, Braian insisted that he did not provide Liam with any substances and declined payment from him.
Discussing their interaction, he explained: "I never supplied Liam with drugs. Liam's first contact with me was at my place of work. We swapped details and saw each other later that night. It was all normal. He came down from his hotel room to fetch me because I had got lost."
Braian has recounted that on October 13, during his second encounter with Liam, they spent the night together indulging in drugs, with Liam using cocaine and Braian smoking marijuana. He stated: "We took drugs together, but I never took drugs to him or accepted any money."
He further explained: "We consumed drugs because the truth is that something intimate happened. I stayed there all night... He wasn't aggressive at all, he behaved really well with me, he was really sweet. He asked me if I was okay. I've got all the messages where we arranged that second meeting. I haven't erased anything."
Despite being unaware of who the other two suspects were, Braian expressed his confusion upon seeing photos from inside Liam's hotel room on the day of his death, saying: "When I saw the photos of the inside of Liam's hotel room nothing made any sense to me. The Dove soap packet was there when I was in the hotel but I couldn't understand what it was for or the candles or the glass of water."
