Scenes outside Mandalay Obo Prison as inmates Released this morning

Family members gathered outside Mandalay’s Obo Prison on Thursday morning (27 November) as more inmates were released under Penal Code Section 505(a).

According to sources, a total of 265 prisoners from the Mandalay Region serving sentences under Section 505(a) are set to be freed.

Starting around 8 am., relatives waited outside the prison to welcome the released inmates, creating emotional scenes as detainees reunited with their families.
