The Labor Attaché Office in Bangkok has announced that Certificate of Identity (CI) issuance centers will be opened starting February 17 for Myanmar migrant workers holding Thai government-issued work permits.

The move is part of a joint effort between the Ministry of Labour of Thailand and the Ministry of Labour of Myanmar to ensure that Myanmar workers with valid Thai work permits can reside and work legally in Thailand. CI processing will be carried out in Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Surat Thani, Chiang Mai and Chonburi.

Workers wishing to apply for a CI must pay a fee of 2,670 baht at nearby 7-Eleven stores. Applicants can select their preferred processing center and appointment date at the time of payment. After completing the payment, workers must present the receipt issued by 7-Eleven when visiting their chosen CI center.

The total official cost for obtaining a CI is 2,670 baht. Authorities have urged applicants to be cautious to avoid unnecessary additional charges. The centers will operate weekly except on Mondays and on official holidays announced by the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok, according to the Labor Attaché Office.
