Mandalay expands power infrastructure to improve electricity distribution
· Eleven Media Group Co., LtdNew 66kV transmission lines and 11/0.4 transformers are being constructed to expand electricity distribution to townships across the Mandalay District, according to reports.
Deputy Minister for Electric Power and Energy U Aye Kyaw met with officials at the Mandalay Electricity Supply Corporation headquarters on May 16 to discuss the current status of electricity distribution across the Mandalay Region.
During the visit, the deputy minister inspected operations at the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Control Center, including meter monitoring systems, the Call Center, and activities at the Regional Control Center (RCC), where electricity transmission and distribution are managed.
He also reviewed the ongoing construction of the 66kV Daungrway–Industrial Zone (1) transmission line, which is aimed at expanding electricity supply to townships in Mandalay District. In addition, he inspected the completed construction of the 66/33/11kV, 30MVA Pyigyitagon (Industrial Zone-1) substation.
The deputy minister further observed the installation of new 11/0.4 transformers being expanded across townships in Mandalay District to ensure consumers receive stable and adequate voltage supply.
