Delay in India squad announcement for CT 2025?
As per Crickbuzz, the BCCI is expected to seek an extension of the deadline from the ICC to announce the squad for IND vs ENG ODIs and CT 2025. India cited its recent commitments in Australia to ask for more time. The report adds that the provisional squad, which is expected to feature players who take part in the ODIs vs England, is expected to be announced on January 18-19 instead. However, the squad for the T20I series, which begins on 22 January, is expected to be unveiled in a couple of days, the report added.

Sundar, Jaiswal to make it to ODIs?
Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is expected to make it to the side for IND vs ENG ODIs, as per the report. The southpaw is yet to make his debut in the 50-over format. After topping the charts in terms of runs scored by an Indian in 2024, he is all set to reap the reward with a maiden call-up to the ODI side. He could also potentially be named in CT 2025 squad as a back-up opener.
Washington Sundar is also expected to retain his spot in the ODI side, the report stated. The all-rounder has been a part of the Indian side in Tests for the last four months, taking part in IND vs NZ series at home followed by the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. If selected, Sundar would go on to become an all-format player for India.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is however expected to retain his spot only in the T20I side as an ODI call-up is unlikely. The three-match IND vs ENG ODI series will begin from February 6.
