Peacock subscribers might have been sleeping on the first season of Ted, but Ted season 2 made a social splash before any of the episodes even dropped.

Now, we've got the pleasure of binging all 8 episodes this weekend, but for me, that's not enough. Perhaps I'm being selfish or am in desperate need of some silly comic relief in bleak times, but I want Ted season 3 in my life more than anything.

Even before season 2 had its premiere, an extended future didn't look promising. Alongside there being no official renewal, creator Seth MacFarlane told Screen Rant that there are "no direct plans" to carry the series on.

The word "direct" might be doing some heavy lifting to disguise what's really going on behind the scenes, and I really hope that is the case.

After speaking to star Alanna Ubach, however, I'm even less certain that we'll ever see my favorite sitcom family ever again.

"Jasmine Valentine... if [Ted season 3] happens, you will be the first to know," Ubach laughs. "I'm just along for the ride."

Normally, I'd chalk this kind of response up to a typically evasive media answer, but Ubach is so warm, funny and open to talk to that I genuinely think she doesn't have a clue what's coming next for the show.
