Is it Time to Wave Good-bye to Amanda Batula (and Her Bun)?
by Jason P. Frank · VULTUREEvery summer has to come to an end, and Amanta Batula’s sunset has apparently arrived. The Summer House star is reportedly leaving the Bravo show following the castwide fallout over her relationship with co-star West Wilson. The confirmation that Batula is leaving comes just two weeks after Wilson’s own departure. Batula has been with the show since it began in 2017, when she was 26 and had just began dating main cast member Kyle Cooke. Though she was initially just a “friend,” she joined the main cast in the show’s second season, dating Cooke throughout the series. They got engaged in 2018 and married in 2021, ultimately divorcing in 2026.
Batula and Wilson sent shockwaves through the Bravo-sphere in March, when they confirmed that they have a romantic “connection.” Fans were shocked by the statement: Batula had recently broken up with Cooke, and was being supported emotionally by her friend Ciara Miller, who also dated Wilson on the show. Though the recent season had already filmed prior to Wilson and Batula revealing their connection, the two got pilloried at the three-part reunion by their castmates. When Batula tried to claim that she didn’t tell Miller sooner about her relationship with Wilson because she was “embarrassed,” for example, new cast member Mia Calabrese responded, “I mean, yeah. It’s embarrassing.” And that may be how Batula is remembered.
She is also currently a main cast member on In the City, a Summer House spinoff that follows some of that show’s cast members plus some extras during the regular year. That show has focused largely on Batula and Cooke’s breakup. The fate of In the City, and Batula’s involvement, remains not-yet confirmed.
With Batula and Wilson gone, the fate of Summer House’s next amazing summer is TBD. The franchise’s long-term stars who can still return are Cooke, Miller, and exes Craig Radke and Lindsay Hubbard, who is also starring on In the City. Of the main cast, Miller is the biggest question mark; though she wouldn’t have to deal with her biggest enemies if she did come back, she’s also got new career opportunities lining up, including hosting the Love Island USA after show Aftersun and competing on Dancing with the Stars. Does she want to return for another season in the Hamptons? Only she knows for sure.
