Full signal but no Internet reasons in Malaysia explained, steps are already being taken to solve it

According to recent reports, the Communications Ministry of Malaysia recently explained why you may be getting strong full bar signals but no Internet. While there are many factors, the main reasons are heavy traffic and when the cables or physical transmission lines get disrupted (through cable theft, wildlife, tower power supply, etc.), resulting in these phantom full signals. MCMC or the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and telcos are already taking steps to avoid these reasons though.

What is being done exactly?

According to a report from Scoop.my, Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said that transmission networks are being upgraded to high-capacity optical fibre cables and the security of communication sites has been strengthened under the Jendela Plan initiative. MCMC has also upgraded backup power generation systems for communications sites while telcos are monitoring traffic 24/7. It should be noted that the full bar, no Internet issue can also be affected by the device, phone settings, telco plan and data quota you’re using.

Have you ever encountered this full bar but no Internet situation before? We have to say that we have, but it’s a bit disappointing that one of the main reasons this happens could be because of cable theft. Perhaps punishments for cable thieves and those who buy them should be toughened to more than just fines and up to 7 years of jail time? What do you think?
