New Hero Xpulse 450

Hero’s biggest Xpulse yet steps into the mid-capacity adventure segment with a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, a 21-inch front wheel and a substantial technology upgrade

Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the Xpulse 450 at EICMA 2026, revealing the larger adventure motorcycle previously expected to carry the Xpulse 421 name. Despite its 450 branding, the motorcycle will be powered by a 421cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine.

New Xpulse 450 Name Confirmed

The production motorcycle’s identity is clearly visible in the official images, with large 450 graphics along the side panels and Xpulse 450 branding on the rear number plate. Its design retains the tall stance associated with the Xpulse range but introduces more substantial bodywork around the tank and radiator. The showcased colour scheme combines white panels with red-and-black graphics, gold-finished wheel rims and bronze-coloured engine covers.

A tall transparent windscreen sits above a vertically arranged headlamp assembly. Handguards, angular mirrors and a wide handlebar complete the front, while the narrow waist and long single-piece seat suggest a layout intended to accommodate movement during off-road riding.

Rally-Inspired Design With Touring Details

The Xpulse 450 gets a high-mounted exhaust with a large metallic heat shield, a rear luggage rack and mounting points along the tail section. These details suggest provision for carrying luggage, although an official accessories catalogue remains awaited.

Protection hardware visible in the images includes a substantial engine bash plate, radiator guard and tubular bars around the front bodywork. The front mudguard sits close to the tyre, distinguishing its arrangement from the high-mounted beak seen on some smaller Xpulse models.

421cc Liquid-Cooled Single

The new Xpulse uses a 421cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, taking Hero into a larger performance category than its existing smaller-capacity adventure motorcycles. Final power and torque figures have not been provided in the information available so far. Estimates placed output in the 40–45 hp region.

The new platform is also linked to the Xpulse Scrambler concept, which leaked from the EICMA show floor ahead of its unveiling. That concept points to the possibility of Hero developing motorcycles with different riding styles around the same architecture. Xpulse 150 has also been revealed.

USD Forks And 21-Inch Front Wheel

The Xpulse 450 features a 21-inch front wheel, supporting its off-road positioning. The images show wire-spoke wheels with block-pattern tyres, gold-finished upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. Disc brakes are fitted at both ends, with ABS tone rings visible. However, detailed braking specifications, suspension travel and rear wheel size remain awaited.

Large TFT Reveals More Technology

One of the most noticeable upgrades is the large landscape-oriented TFT instrument screen. The cockpit images show Rain, Road, Trail and Off Road riding-mode selections, alongside settings for traction control, throttle mapping and ABS.

Another screen displays Android Auto and Apple CarPlay options, suggesting a more extensive connectivity package than earlier Xpulse models. Complete functionality, display dimensions and any market-specific differences still require confirmation.

Himalayan 450 And KTM 390 Adventure Rival

The Xpulse 450 places Hero in direct contention within the mid-capacity adventure category, where buyers already have options such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure. Pricing, launch timing and delivery plans have not been announced in the information shared so far. With its larger engine, rally-inspired design and expanded electronics package, the Xpulse 450 represents a significant step forward for Hero’s adventure motorcycle range.
