Organic carrots recalled over E. coli outbreak; 1 person dead, 15 hospitalized
by Clyde Hughes · UPINov. 18 (UPI) -- A California grower has issued a nationwide recall of organic carrots it produced for some of the country's leading supermarkets over an E. coli outbreak, including Albertsons, Kroger, Publix, Trader Joe's, Walmart and Whole Foods.
The recall issued by Grimmway Farms on Saturday comes after reports from 18 states documenting nearly 40 cases connecting its baby carrots with the illness. The cases have led to one death and 15 hospitalizations.
